Louise and Phil at Great John Street Hotel

WOW… What an emotional wedding day on Saturday, love was definitely in the air and it brought tears to the eyes of many of the guests as they witnessed Louise & Phil tie the knot at the Great John Street Hotel. And I must give a little nod to Jo, our maid of honour who was so strong, it’s clear to see that your friendship with these guys gave you the strength to be there for them, and to also have a fabulous day yourself…

So firstly I caught up with the groom Phil and his best man and ultimate best bud Si. The boys had a cracking wedding breakfast in The Slug and Lettuce, Spinningfields, it was very much needed to calm the nerves and soak up a little bit of sherbet from the night before, bad boys…!

In the meantime, and after a quick leggit back to the Great John Street Hotel, bridal prep was in full swing, with Louise enjoying her morning with the bridesmaids, maid of honour and her lovely mum, the prosecco flowed whilst the make up artist and hairdresser worked their magic on all the girls… what a fun morning being with you lot.

The whole wedding took place on the terrace of Great John Street Hotel, and the cute cosy ceremony room was candlelit and already full of their close friends and family, plus a live link to the Philippines for ones that couldn’t make it over here.

The weather wasn’t really on our side to begin with but it didn’t dampen anyones spirit, but as they said “I do” the rain stopped and out came the sunshine, just perfect timing for all the group shots, and what an amazing backdrop of Manchester City Centre behind.

So with Great John Street being situated so close to the centre, it’s the perfect venue for your wedding day, the hotel is full of character and you don’t have to walk too far to find an excellent place for the wedding portrait shots, so whilst the guests enjoyed a few drinks I nipped the bride and groom off for a little stroll round the hotel, keeping everything nice and relaxed and the portraits unposed, matching the lovely documentary style of the whole day, plus just 20 minutes usually gives us plenty of time to capture this so that they can head off to party with their guests and thoroughly enjoy the best day of their lives.

Thank you so much for inviting me to capture you beautiful day, I loved being with you, I wish you both many, many more years of happiness…

Big hugs
